Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the federal minister of finance and revenue, highlighted the government’s complete policy framework here on Tuesday with the goal of increasing tax revenues through better financial transparency and documentation.
The minister stressed the significance of standardising financial regimes to conform to global practices during a meeting with a delegation of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), which was led by Dr. Andreas, Chairman of the IASB. He claimed that this was essential for promoting investor confidence both domestically and internationally.
Senior officers from the Finance Division also attended the meeting, along with Jianqiao Lu, Member of the IASB, Ashfaq Tola, Chairman of the Reforms and Resource Mobilisation Commission of Pakistan (RRMC), Farukh Rehman, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), and Rana Usman Khan, Chairman of the Asia-Oceania Accounting Standards Group.
