Sarfraz Bugti, the acting federal minister for interior and drugs control, opened the Anti-Narcotics Force Academy (ANFA) Forensic Lab on Friday at the agency’s headquarters. Along with the Police Liaison Officer and Police Consular from the People’s Republic of China Embassy, the chief visitor was cordially received by Secretary of the Ministry of Narcotics Control, Capt(r) Munir Azam, and DG ANF, Major General Muhammad Aneeq Ur Rehman Malik, HI (M). Commandant ANFA gave information on extensive counter-narcotics training programmes during the visit. The minister conveyed his appreciation to the Chinese delegates for their crucial help in setting up the forensic laboratory. He underlined how important the lab is to accelerating prosecutions, relieving pressure on existing forensic facilities, and increasing the effectiveness of drug detection using cutting-edge technology.
