Fakhre Alam released in Russia after visa extension

Renowned singer and adventurist Fakhre Alam who was detained in Russia for not having a valid visa was freed in Russia after brief detention on Tuesday.

Earlier,Fakhre Alam who is currently in first leg of his solo journey around the globe has been detained in Russia due to visa expiry and has called for help from Pakistani government.

In a social media post shared by Faisal Qureshi, adventurer Alam said that he was detained because his visa was expired two hours ago before landing in Russia.

Alam had embarked on a distinct journey earlier this month of circumnavigating the globe becoming the first Pakistani to do so.

Foreign Ministry spokesman has said the concerned Pakistan mission  in Russia has been directed to look into the matter.
