Efforts afoot for provision of basic facilities to citizens: Deputy Commissioner

Chiniot: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Asif Raza has said that the district administration is taking practical steps to provide basic facilities to the citizens.  Cleanliness campaign is being implemented across the district.  COs, MCs and district council along with their teams are cleaning the places by eradicating encroachments from all areas on a daily basis, all the roadsides, protective forests, monuments of the city are being painted and painted while the parks.  Steps are being taken for improvement.  The Deputy Commissioner further informed that the plantation campaign is being implemented in full force across the district in which all the departments are participating.  The Health Department is planting thousands of saplings in all the health centers, while the School Education Department is planting thousands of saplings in the available spaces in all the schools except Chiniot offices.  All the students are planting one sapling of their share while a few days ago a record mass plantation was done in Chuck No. 147 Phatinka Kalyaran in which all the line departments and hundreds of students planted one lakh saplings in one day and set a record in Chiniot district.  Finally, he said that the price control mechanism is being implemented according to the government’s vision.  Price control magistrates are checking commodity price rates on a daily basis and imposing fines on violations.  Arrests and FIRs are being registered while daily inspections of fertilizer dealers are going on. Warehouses and shops are being sealed for overcharging and FIRs are also being registered.
