The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has once again questioned the results of the recent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) intra-party elections, sources reported on Wednesday.
The sources claim that due to purported anomalies in the intra-party ballots held on March 3, the electoral authority has delivered a notice to the outgoing ruling party.
PTI representatives have been invited to appear before the electoral watchdog on April 30 by the Political Financing Wing of the ECP. The vote coordinating body has objected to the internal elections held by the troubled party three times now.
On March 4, the PTI submitted to the ECP the documentation pertaining to their intra-party surveys. PTI’s Federal Election Commissioner Raoof Hasan submitted the paperwork, which contained information about the newly elected party office-bearers.
