ECC urges relief measures for public

While applauding the reduction in inflation, the cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) advised that the decreased pricing trends be translated into real comfort for the average person.

According to a press release from the finance ministry, Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance, presided over the ECC meeting.

In addition to the customary agenda, the meeting’s main focus was on evaluating inflation trends and the prices of basic commodities as reported by the Finance Division’s Economic Advisor’s Wing.

The news release stated that in accordance with its previous ruling, the ECC reviewed inflation patterns every month.
Inflation for the first half of FY2025 (July–December) dropped sharply to 7.2% from 28.8% during the same period last year, the cabinet council was told.
