ECC asks NPMC for coordination with provinces to stabilize prices

The National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC) has been  instructed by the Economic cooperation Committee (ECC) to  maintain constant cooperation with the provinces in order to  implement measures that guarantee price stability and prevent  stockpiling and profiteering. The orders were given out on Friday during the ECC meeting, which was chaired by Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar in Islamabad. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) addressed the gathering on  the state of inflation and the most recent changes in the costs of  various necessities. The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource  Development’s summary was also taken into consideration by the  ECC when approving the Employee Old Age Institution’s budget. The forum instructed EOBI to closely adhere to the budget schedule and commended it for its excellent performance.
