Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that the federal government’s offer for talks with the Imran Khan-founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) remains valid just days before the party’s scheduled statewide protests.
In an interview with reporters in Sialkot on Sunday, the defence minister stated, “From our side, dialogue offer to PTI still intact.”
The imprisoned PTI founder urged his followers to march to Islamabad on November 24 last week. “This is the last call for a [anti-government] protest, according to Imran Khan. After a meeting in Adiala Jail, the PTI founder’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, emphasised that the whole leadership of the party would participate in the march.
Since his sentencing in the Toshakhana case in August of last year, Khan has been incarcerated.
