Deputy Commissioner Syed Asif Shah urges people to plant trees to protect environment

Vehari: On the occasion of World Forestry Day, eleven thousand saplings were planted in Vehari in one day. Deputy Commissioner Syed Asif Shah planted a sapling opposite the University of Education on the occasion of World Forestry Day. He said that two and a half lakh saplings will be planted throughout the district during spring planting. Trees and plants make the environment pleasant by purifying it from pollution. And is a natural source of oxygen for humans. Apart from being the beauty of the earth, trees and plants fulfill human and animal needs. He said that the people should also go ahead and plant plants on their own homes and offices and vacant land so that the problem of environmental pollution can be controlled. Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Muzaffar Khan and officers of Forest Department were also present on this occasion. Meanwhile free flour distribution continues in Vehari district as well as across Punjab. Deputy Commissioner Syed Asif Hussain Shah visited various centers and reviewed the arrangements while distributing free flour to the people. He said that distribution of free flour for the people under the welfare plan of the Punjab government is a commendable initiative. And three bags of flour are being provided free of charge to the poor throughout the month. 12 centers have been established in the three tehsils across the district.
