Decline in power tariff for EV sector to encourage investors: PM

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised the sharp drop in EV power rates of Rs30 per unit on Wednesday, calling it a positive move for the industry to increase the number of emission-free and environmentally friendly cars in the nation.At a meeting to discuss the promotion of the Electric Vehicle Policy, the prime minister thanked Power Minister Awais Ahmed Leghari and his team for developing a compelling plan to help EV manufacturers introduce subsidized charge-based cars in the nation.The rate in this sector has been dramatically lowered from Rs70 to Rs40 per unit by the power minister and his team. It will motivate industry partners and investors to make additional investments in the EV sector,” he stated.
