DC Gujranwala reportedly made OSD under political influence

Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Shoaib Tariq Warraich has reportedly been transferred from his post under political influence for trying to demolish illegal petrol pump belonging to a PTI MPA built on encroached official land.

Shoaib Warraich was directed on Thursday to report to Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), the bureaucratic jargon for officer who has fallen from grace of seniors and has been effectively made useless.

According to sources, Warraich was made OSD for locking horns with PTI MPA Ahsan Jameel Gujjar whose brother Hassan Sultan allegedly built a petrol pump on government land using counterfeit lease letter.

DC Gujranwala had requested the CM house to provide details of lease after no record was found in DC office.

The district government had earlier demolished an illegally constructed petrol pump near Sheikhupura Mor allegedly belonging to former federal minister Ghulam Dastgir Khan under the ongoing campaign against encroachments.

It is pertinent to mention here that Jameel Gujjar was also involved in an earlier scandal of Punjab government regarding influence the transfer of Pakpattan DPO Rizwan Gondal and was relieved only after tendering unconditional apology to Supreme Court.
