Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister, has asked the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take coordinated action against the growing Islamophobia.
He was addressing in Banjul, The Gambia, during the Foreign Ministers Preparatory Meeting for the OIC’s 15th Islamic Summit. According to the foreign minister, there is a growing global incidence of violence, provocation, and discrimination against Muslims, which is a sign of growing Islamophobia.
In order to harmonise the application of content regulation policies for blasphemous, anti-Islamic, and Islamophobic content, he encouraged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to develop a coordinated policy. The Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian and Kashmiri peoples’ legitimate right to self-determination.
