Pakistan reports 6,377 coronavirus cases, 48 deaths in 24 hours

LAHORE,: Pakistan has reported 48 more deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,448,640. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 29,420 on Friday.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 6,377 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

547,920 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 485,810 in Punjab, 199,195 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 130,373 in Islamabad, 39,894 in Azad Kashmir, 34,634 in Balochistan and 10,837 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 25,258,723 coronavirus tests and 64,121 in the last 24 hours. 1,317,385 patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,618 patients are in critical condition.

The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 9.95 percent.

So far, 107,277,517 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 949,226 in last 24 hours. 83,946,354 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 671,271 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 180,661,534 with 1,664,560 in the last 24 hours.
