The caretaker federal administration emphasised on Thursday that the use of force was necessary to prevent a “catastrophe” in response to the worldwide condemnation of the police crackdown against Baloch protestors in Islamabad. Information Minister Murtaza Solangi announced at a joint press conference that a committee has been constituted to hold negotiations with the Baloch demonstrators in accordance with the directives of caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. The ministers were joined by Fawad Hasan Fawad and Jamal Shah. He said, “Fawad Hasan Fawad spoke with the protestors on behalf of the government.” The demonstrators were promised that all of their complaints would be addressed by the negotiation group, which was led by the minister of privatisation.
