Crackdown against fertilizer mafia launched

Adda Larr: The joint actions of the Department of Agriculture and AC Saddar against the food mafia, the shopkeepers left the shops and ran away, many shops were sealed and many shopkeepers were handed over to the police station for departmental action including heavy fines. According to the details, on the instructions of the Agriculture Secretary, Department of Agriculture Multan Assistant Director Agriculture Officer Rai Zafar Abbas Kharl and Assistant Director (Extra) Allah Rakha Sindhu, AC President and AC City Multan, Joint operations were carried out against food mafia in different places. At the Fertilizer Warehouse of Paracha Fertilizer Company Agro Urea over 150, imported urea more than 8000 while, Zia Brothers and Sheikh Khalil & Co.’s fertilizer warehouse, more than 3000 Urea, Gold DAP more than 4000, Nashiya SSP more than 1200, more than NP 1300, Agro DAP was found to have more than 500 stocks on which Assistant Commissioner Multan City sealed it. While the fertilizer shop of Chauhan Brothers Basti Maluk had more than 400 sacks of urea and the fertilizer shop of Ahmed Hasan Fertilizer Dealer Sher Shah had more than 2700 bags of urea and was sealed by Assistant Commissioner Multan Sadar. Noor Agro Services confiscated more than 142 bags of urea from Basti Maluk and fined the dealer 40000 at the notified rate. Extra Assistant Director of Agriculture (Ext.), Multan, under his supervision, sold them to the farmers on the spot. However, during the operation, many shopkeepers left the shops and ran away, while prosecutors were sent for departmental action against many shopkeepers.
