Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PT), and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the vice chairman, were indicted on Monday by a special court established to consider the cypher case filed under the Official Secrets Act. Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain of the special court heard the case at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi. Following their filing of a petition under CrPC 265-D to stay the indictment, both PTI leaders were eventually charged with crimes. The judge declared that the indictment hearing was scheduled and proceeded with it while dismissing the petitions. The prosecution’s evidence is recorded once the charges are framed, and the case trial gets underway. The accused’s remarks and testimonies are then recorded by the court.
