Country facing shortage of nurses at national level: Tarar

Sen. Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister of Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, stated on Wednesday that the nation lacks enough nurses to meet the 0.9 million additional nurses needed by 2030 to meet the nation’s expanding nursing needs.

The minister was responding to a calling attention notice that Member National Assembly (MNA) Sehar Kamran had moved to draw the Minister’s attention to the issue of Islamabad’s severe physician and nurse shortage, which has raised serious concerns from the public.

Tarar reported that the scarcity at the federal capital’s hospitals was not one of doctors but rather of nurses.
