Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal reviews arrangements for distribution of free flour

Chichawatni: The free flour distribution program of the Chief Minister of Punjab has started, under which free flour will be distributed to poor families in the month of Ramadan. The process of flour distribution has started in all the districts of Sahiwal division and in the first phase, 45 thousand bags have been distributed in the division. 11,200 bags will be distributed in Sahiwal district, 9,000,000 bags in Okara and 25,000 bags in Pakpattan.

Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed visited Nawaz Sharif Park, Ghala Mandi and Model Bazar reviewed the arrangements for free flour distribution. Deputy Commissioner Ikram-ul-Haq was also with him. He directed the administration to provide drinking water facilities to those who come to buy flour at all centers for the convenience of the people, lady police duty for women. And for the convenience of those who come to buy flour, the number of counters at the centers should be increased. He further said that the number of staff should be increased at all the counters to avoid rush. He said that the poor in the month of Ramadan. And providing free flour to the middle class is the best initiative of the Punjab government which will benefit millions of people. He said that by fully implementing the government guidelines, the process of distribution of free flour should be made transparent and the people taking free flour should be treated kindly and fully guided. Special facilities to the weak and women should be provided and the food department should ensure immediate availability of flour by setting up more counters.
