CNS attends Indian Ocean Naval Symposium

Admiral Naveed Ashraf, the Chief of Staff of the Chief Naval Staff  (CNS), travelled to Thailand for the ninth Conclave of Chiefs of the  Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) in Bangkok. According to a Pakistan Navy news release on Tuesday, the event  featured panel talks on topics pertaining to collaboration in Indian Ocean maritime security and the “Blue Economy”—ways forward for the sustainable growth of IONS members. Bilateral discussions were also held between the Chief of the Naval  Staff and the naval leadership of IONS member states during the  Conclave of Chiefs. The commanders of the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces, the Royal Thai Navy, the Russian Navy, the Commander of the Royal Navy of  Oman, the French Navy, the Iranian Navy, and the Fleet  Commander of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom were all  called by the CNS.
