CJP blasts ‘very disappointing’ Faizabad commission report

After reading the “extremely disappointing” Faizabad sit-in investigation commission findings, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa expressed his surprise.
The inquiry committee, which was established to look into the Faizabad sit-in, presented its report, and the federal government’s review petition was being heard by a three-member bench led by the Chief Justice at the time of the CJP’s remarks.
Justices Naeem Akhtar Awan and Irfan Saadat Khan were also on the bench.
The commission investigating the 2017 sit-in in Faizabad, which was organised by former Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi, was established by the Supreme Court. Major General (retd) Azhar Naveed Hayat, a former spymaster and director general of the Punjab Rangers, was given a clean sheet.
