Punjab provincial government on Friday took an abrupt u-turn on its earlier policy and reinstated ban on teachers’ transfers all over the province.
Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar had last week announced to relax the ban on teachers’ transfers until November 21.
The move apparently surprised PTI’s own provincial education minister who claimed in a tweet that the ban on transfer was placed directly by CM office and not by education department.
The sudden reinstation of transfer ban was met with widespread criticism by general public who took to social media to complain about unfriendly policies of Punjab govt.
The ban on transfers of schoolteachers was imposed in 2016 while at this time around 50,000 schoolteachers had submitted applications seeking transfers
