Cillian Murphy is touching the shooting of Peaky Blinders without her beloved co-star Helen McCrory.
Speaking to New Square before the release of the show’s final season, the actor shared that the entire cast was just ‘reeling’ from the grief of losing the actor in COVID-19.
I’ve never lost anyone like that – a young man and a friend. It was very confusing. But she was wonderful. She was a wonderful person,” he began.
We were just swaying in this whole affair. She was a lovely, lovely Paul and she was the beating heart of the show, so it was weird to be on the set without her.
Murphy praised the star’s bravery and courage throughout his life: “It’s hard to imagine that, if it weren’t for the cove, another version of the show would have been with Helen.
Cillian continued: “She was impressive. People throw the word around, but she was real. Her values, the way she taught her children and Damien [Lewis, her 14-year-old husband]. Treated … she cares for everyone. ”
“It’s just … I still can’t believe he’s not here. It doesn’t make sense,” Sitara lamented.
