On a three-day visit, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and Federal Planning Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal landed at Beijing Capital Airport on Wednesday.
At the airport, Chinese officials and the Pakistani ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, greeted the minister and other members of his team.
The minister stated that this is the first high-level visit to China since the election of a new government in his arrival announcement.
Ahsan Iqbal remarked, “China is a historical friend of Pakistan who supported us in difficult times.”
He added that projects valued at $25 billion are being finished in Pakistan as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He continued, “The energy and infrastructure sectors were upgraded in the first phase.”
