On Thursday, Murtaza Solangi, the acting minister for information, broadcasting, and parliamentary affairs, urged the Senate’s Standing Committee to deliberate and develop a plan for reforming the state media institutions. The minister emphasised in her address to the Senate Committee on Information and Broadcasting the necessity of reforming state broadcasters to bring them up to date with contemporary norms. The minister of information stated that no decisions on the shutdown of any institution or permanent appointments could be made by the caretaker government. He stated that while the services of various individuals were employed in the past to manage vital programmes and address personnel shortages, employing daily wagerers through advertisements appeared to be a laborious procedure.
