Bangladesh army chief gives roadmap as PM Hasina flees to India

According to multiple sources, Bangladesh’s prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, quit her position on Monday and left the country as more people lost their lives in some of the deadliest acts of violence since the country’s founding more than 50 years ago.
Hasina, 76, departed the nation, according to Army Chief General Waker-Us-Zaman, who also announced the formation of an interim administration in a televised speech.
According to media reports, she and her sister had taken a military chopper flight and were their route to India. She had arrived in Agartala, the capital of Tripura, a state in northeastern India, according to CNN News 18.
