Australian envoy lauds Pakistan’s efforts for regional security

ISLAMABAD: Australian High Commissioner, Neil Hawkins called on Minister for Defence Lieutenant General (R) Anwar Ali Hyder at the Ministry of Defence and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in maintaining regional peace and security, especially in the Afghanistan peace process.

The Defence Minister emphasized that Pakistan was committed to supporting the initiatives on peace, whereas both the dignitaries discussed peace and security in regional and global contexts, a news release said.

Bilateral cooperation avenues in fields of counter-terrorism and economics, also came under discussion.

Pointing out enormous scope for strengthening and further cementing bilateral defence ties, both sides assured of taking specific practical steps in this regard.
