An official stated on Tuesday that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had foiled an attempt to storm the Pezu police station in the Lakki Marwat district late at night. District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Habib said that at midnight, officers at the Gandi Chowk checkpost encountered six suspected terrorists after having reason to believe they were present and moving. The DPO stated that all authorities were safe and that the police had “forced the terrorists to flee” since they were already on guard. The official said that an armed personal carrier (APC) and a sizable police detachment had arrived at the scene. DPO Habib called the Lakki Marwat police a “professional and courageous force that has always fulfilled its role on the frontline in tough circumstances” and expressed gratitude to the officers for stopping the attack.
