LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed on Saturday said that appointment of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was “a blunder by [Prime Minister] Imran Khan”.
While addressing a press conference, Rasheed said that Imran Khan should take the nation into confidence if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are agreeing to returning looted money [to the national treasury].
He added that the PML-N and PPP leaders will prefer to die instead of returning [looted] money.
Taking aim at Shehbaz again, the federal minister demanded that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa should take back Rangers’ security from the PAC chairman.
Sheikh Rasheed predicted that politics of Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif has come to an end while he will definitely join Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s long march against corruption.
While commenting on the achievements of Railways Ministry, he said that the department managed to retrieve Rs320 million fine within three months while running 12 freight trains has been put on priority.
He said that Prime Minister Imran will inaugurate Thal Express on February 12 while his ministry will hold a meeting on progress of ML-1 project in current week.
