During their meeting with Alvarez and Marsal Sovereign Advisory Services, Pakistan’s delegation—which is currently in the United States for the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund annual meetings—discussed ways for Pakistan to gain access to global capital markets and external creditors.
According to a news release from the finance ministry, Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, is leading the Pakistani delegation to the WB and IMF Annual Meetings, which will take place in Washington, DC, from October 21–26, 2024.
Additional representatives are Jameel Ahmad, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan; Dr. Kazim Niaz, Secretary of Economic Affairs; and Imdad Ullah Bosal, Secretary of Finance.
Alvarez and Marsal Sovereign Advisory Services officials, including Dr. Reza Baqir, the Managing Director, met with the delegation from Pakistan.
