Anushka Sharma on Aditya Chopra request to keep her debut role a secret

Anushka Sharma revealed in one of The Romantics’ episodes that Aditya Chopra initially asked her to keep her debut film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, a secret from the parents.

Anushka said in the documentary series: “Everything was a secret. Adi didn’t want anyone to know that I was the lead actor, so nobody knew about it. You can’t tell anyone, Adi reportedly told me. Even telling your parent is not permitted. I uttered “Huh?” One of the most well-known movies, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi starred Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka in the lead roles. The main character of the movie was Surrinder Sahni, a straightforward man who falls in love with Tani. They accidentally marry each other. Then Suri tries to make a good impression.

Sharma took a pregnancy leave of absence that lasted for nearly four years. The sports drama Chakda Xpress, based on the life of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, is her return to the big screen, though. Karnesh Sharma, the brother of Anushka Sharma, is the producer of Chakda Xpress. The movie will soon be available on Netflix.
