Anti-Terrorism Court issues non-bailable arrest warrant for Sanaullah

 GUJRANWALA: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah’s request for an exemption from his appearance today was denied by an Anti-Terrorism Court in Gujranwala, and the court instead issued a non-bailable arrest warrant. Judge Rana Zahid Iqbal Khan of the ATC has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Sanaullah. Rana Sanaullah must be detained by the police and brought before the court on March 28. In a case filed at Gujarat’s Industrial Police Station, the ATC had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the interior minister on February 24. On March 7, the police were to arrest him and bring him into custody.

During today’s hearing, Rana Sanaullah’s lawyer Advocate Abdul Majeed appeared in the court and filed a request for exemption from Sanaullah’s appearance in the court, saying due to official engagements Sanaullah couldn’t appear in the court today and that he would appear in the court on the next hearing.

aftert which the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant while rejecting the plea of exemption from attendance.
