As the centrepiece project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has emerged as a transformative force in the region, particularly for Pakistan, according to Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, who made this announcement on Friday.
According to the minister, CPEC would advance development and cooperation between the two nations in the domains of industry, science, information technology, and agriculture.
The 13th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting was presided over by the minister and Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Li Chunlin. Li Chunlin commended the Pakistani minister of planning at the start of the conference for his strong support of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and his proactive involvement in advancing it.
