According to the military’s media affairs division, an Afghan sentry opened “unprovoked and indiscriminate” fire on pedestrians at the Chaman border in Balochistan on Wednesday, killing at least two individuals, among them a 12-year-old child. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that a kid was hurt during the incident. It stated that on October 4 at 1600 hours, an Afghan guard working at the Friendship Gate of Chaman Border Crossing at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Balochistan opened fire without provocation and without regard for target. According to the ISPR, the incident happened at the outgoing gate, which is situated on the zero line. It said that in order to prevent collateral damage, “Own troops exercised extreme restraint and avoided any exchange of fire in the presence of innocent passengers.”
