This week, three projects totaling $658.8 million were approved by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to assist Pakistan in realising its objective of more equitable and sustainable growth and development. According to a news release on Wednesday, the projects would promote domestic resource mobilisation, restore schools damaged by the severe floods in August 2022, and increase agricultural output to improve food security. ADB Director General for Central and West Asia Yevgeniy Zhukov stated, “This significant new wave of financing will help Pakistan recover from the impacts of last year’s cost-of-living crisis and super-floods and return to the path of long-term development that is sustainable and inclusive.”
