Aamir Khan, it is thought, was concentrating on ‘Mahabharata’ which he was apparently hoping to bring onto the big screen. However, it seems the actor is also about to bring another popular story to Indian cinema.
News has it that Khan has bought the rights to 1994 Tom Hanks starrer ‘Forrest Gump’. He’s apparently going to join hands with ‘Secret Superstar’ (2017) director Advait Chandan to bring the story to the big screens, as reported by Pinkvilla. This is especially exciting as many will agree that there’s noone better than the actor to step into the character’s shoes.
The superstar’s last release, Thugs Of Hindostan failed to impress audiences, also opening to not so favourable reviews. However, it still excelled at the box office.
The report further adds that Aamir, who was supposed to begin work on Mahabharata and Mogul, has kept these projects aside. His main focus now remains the Forrest Grump remake.
As Aamir reportedly gears up for one of the most challenging roles of his career, his performance in Rajkumar Hirani’s PK seems eerily similar to Tom’s character in the Academy-winning film. So, this might just work out well for him.
