LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif refused to go abroad after “conditional permission” surety bonds was granted by the government to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Last night a one-and-a-half hour meeting was held between the former prime minister and his brother Shehbaz Sharif at Jati Umra.
The Sharif family also stated that an air ambulance had also not been called to transport Sharif from Pakistan to London for medical treatment.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ata Tarar said, Party has decided not to attend today’s meeting of the Federal Cabinet’s subcommittee on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Tarar, who is representing his party in the committee for the case, said they were told that they should inform the committee if their position changes on the issue.
In a statement issued, the party’s stance on the issue was clear that they have submitted a surety bond to the court. Tarar said, “We stand by our statement which is why we have decided not to attend today’s meeting.”
