Humayon Saeed’s film not to hit cinemas this Eid

“I come every Eid-ul-Azha,” said Humayun Saeed recently in an interview. The superstar has been ruling over the box office on the festival ever since his film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani came out in 2015. Well, this year won’t be the same as his next offering, Love You Jatta, is now out of the Bakra Eid race.

Humayun recently has been extremely busy being the team ambassador for Karachi Kings at PSL 4. Seeing him actively cheering for his team on the ground, it had us worried on how would he be able to complete the film in this limited time, especially when the movie didn’t even have a confirmed cast, let alone any progress on principal photography.

Therefore, sources contacted the star and asked him about the update on the project and related aspects.

“Yes, the film won’t be coming out on Eid-ul-Azha since we are still working on the script, but it will definitely be out somewhere late in 2019.”

This led us to wonder what is the status of his upcoming drama serial, Mere Pass Tum Ho, which features him alongside Ayeza Khan. When we put this query in front of the actor, he informed us that the work on said TV serial is underway and that it will probably come out on Eid-ul-Fitr this year.

ith Humayun confirming his film’s delay and Zarrar still not completely confirmed for the festival date, it seems; at least for now, that Asim Raza’s Parey Hat Love will have quite a free reign at the box office on Eid-ul-Azha this year.

We say “quite,” because Parey Hut Love will still not be alone as Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan starrer Heer maan ja

is also slated for release on Eid-ul-Adha 2019.

Although the news of delay may be a little saddening for Humayun Saeed fans, for the industry at large, it is good news. Considering the halt on Indian films in Pakistan, the industry needs local films releasing throughout the year so that there is a steady influx of content for cinemas to run.
