Romina urges stronger climate action, investment in green solutions

Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Climate Change Coordinator, has emphasized the critical need for funding green initiatives, climate education, and enabling young people to take the lead in creating a sustainable future.

The PM’s aide emphasized Pakistan’s precarious situation in the face of the global climate crisis in her speech at the Breathe Pakistan Climate Conference on Friday, urging individuals, corporations, civil society, and governments to join forces in the fight against climate change.

“The global climate catastrophe has Pakistan at its forefront. We continue to rank among the world’s most climate-vulnerable countries, even though we contribute less than 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions,” she said.

Romina emphasized the effects of climate change, ranging from protracted droughts to devastating floods.
