The progressive drop in inflation, which was recorded in January of this year at a 9-year low of 2.4 percent, was hailed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday.
According to the prime minister, the inflation rate was 28.73 percent at the start of 2024, dropped to 4.1 percent by the end of 2024, and then dropped even lower to 2.4 percent in January 2025.
The prime minister added that the steady decline in inflation was displaying encouraging signs in every area and that a drop in the cost of necessities was helping to raise the standard of living for regular people.
“More inflation is proof that the government’s economic policies and actions are on the right track,” the prime minister stated.
