During their meeting in Islamabad on Sunday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq discussed the PTI’s “attitude” during the recent negotiations with the government.
In an effort to defuse political tensions that had escalated for over a year, the government and the PTI began talking in the final week of December. However, the creation of two judicial commissions and the release of PTI detainees were the two main points on which the dialogue process stopped despite weeks of negotiations.
Due to the government’s tardiness in establishing judicial commissions to look into the protests on May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024, the PTI skipped this week’s fourth meeting.
