According to a report released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday, the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), which measures weekly inflation, decreased by 0.39 percent for all consumer categories for the week ending January 16 and rose to 1.16 percent on a year-over-year (YoY) basis.
The SPI for the group in question was 322.71 points for the week under examination, compared to 323.97 points for the previous week, according to the PBS statistics.
The SPI for the combined consumption group increased by 1.90 percent in the week under review compared to the same week last year.
With a base year of 2015–16 = 100, the weekly SPI includes 51 important components for all expenditure groups and 17 urban centers.
