Govt reduces 45 % power tariff for electric vehicle charging stations

Electric car charging stations will now receive Rs. 39.70 per unit instead of the current Rs. 71 per unit after the electricity division lowered the power cost for these stations by 45%, according to Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Laghari on Wednesday.
Speaking at a news conference, the minister announced that within 15 days, registration and business will be permitted, along with the implementation of rules pertaining to electric vehicle charging stations.
He said that a unique concessional electricity rate for electric vehicle charging stations was announced today under the direction of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The existing Rs. 71 per unit special concessional electricity pricing for charging stations has been lowered to Rs. 39.70 per unit.
