Advocate Khawaja Haris was requested by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail on Friday to convince the court of the trial process in military tribunals.
During the hearing of the case concerning civilian trials in military courts on the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench, Justice Mandokhail asked the defense ministry’s attorney a question.
The matter concerning civilian trials in military courts is being heard by a seven-member constitutional panel led by Justice Ameenuddin Khan. Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Musarat Hilali, Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Shahid Bilal Hassan, and Jamal Mandokhail are on the bench.
Justice Hilali stated at the beginning of the hearing that the officer presiding over the court trial refers the case to a senior officer rather than rendering the decision himself.
