Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab, met with a high-level Chinese team on Friday at Punjab House in Islamabad.
The delegation included Huawei Deputy CEO Mr. Yu Ray and Chengdu General Coordinator for ICT Hub Ms. Scarlett. She provided its principle permission, and Chengdu indicated its agreement to make an investment of $700 million.
Soon, e-taxi service will be introduced with Chengdu’s assistance. Additionally, a “Computing Center” would be established in Lahore’s Nawaz Sharif IT City by a Chinese company. The establishment of a data and cloud center in Nawaz Sharif IT City was decided upon during the meeting. A data and cloud center will be established on land and in a building provided by the Punjab government. Establishing Pakistan’s first e-commerce platform was decided upon.
