Aurangzeb reiterates govt’s resolve to transform tax system

In order to ensure an efficient tax system and equitable taxation, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb reaffirmed the government’s commitment on Friday to restructure and transform the nation’s tax machinery. This will be accomplished by introducing people-processed technology and ensuring end-to-end digitalization to reduce corruption, bring transparency, and end human intervention.
According to a news release issued here, the Minister stated that the government is still committed to increasing the nation’s tax-to-GDP ratio by expanding the tax base and reducing an excessive burden on the organized sectors of the economy, such as manufacturing and the salaried classes.
In a meeting with Mr. Karim Yahi, Global CEO of Coca-Cola Içecek (CCI), who was also present together with Mr. Ahmet Kursad Ertin, he shared these opinions.
