PM stresses prioritizing low-cost power projects

On Friday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif gave the appropriate authorities instructions to lower electricity rates even more and hasten the action plan’s implementation for upcoming power generation projects.

The prime minister emphasised the importance of giving low-cost power projects based on local resources first priority while presiding over a meeting to review and discuss the nation’s future plans for electricity and power.

The prime minister was briefed on the status of the country’s current hydropower projects during the meeting.

According to PM Shehbaz, the inexpensive power project generates inexpensive, environmentally friendly electricity.

He also ordered that solar energy be used to replace the current electricity producing capacity.
