Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired the Federal Cabinet meeting, which took place in Islamabad today [Monday].
On the suggestion of the Ministry of Commerce, the federal cabinet authorised the filing of a review appeal against the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s ruling to relax the import prohibition on monosodium glutamate (Ajino Motu).

According to the committee’s conclusion, monosodium glutamate is safe for human consumption. Representatives from the Federal Ministry of National Food Security and Research, the Institute of Food and Nutritional Sciences, the National Agriculture Research Centre, the National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan Scientific and Industrial Research, the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority, and the Board of Investment were on the committee.
The memorandums of understanding pertaining to Pakistan Chairs at the University of Cambridge, St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, University of Jordan, Peking University China, and University of Heidelberg Germany were renewed by the federal cabinet on the suggestion of the Ministry of Federal Education and Technical Training.
