Economic progress depends on political stability, and we must distinguish between politics and violent protest, stated Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, he stated that the federal cabinet has not decided whether to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) or impose governor’s rule in KP. “Such measures have historically proven ineffective in fostering political stability,” he said, urging political leaders to choose discussion as a means of resolving disputes.
He claimed that violent protests were ineffective for any political party and that violent politics had no place in a democracy. He emphasised that protests shouldn’t interfere with day-to-day activities, even though he acknowledged the right to demonstrate.
