On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan and Russia had a great deal of potential for cooperation in a variety of areas, which could be used to further the development objectives of both nations’ citizens.
According to a press release from the PM Office, the prime minister said in a meeting with a parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko that the strength and sustainability of the bilateral relations after the recent visits of Pakistan by the Russian senior leadership were encouraging.
The Russian team was welcomed to Pakistan by the prime minister, who hailed their visit as a significant step in enhancing Pakistan-Russian parliamentary ties.
He said there will be a significant chance to further bilateral collaboration at the Pakistan-Russia Joint Commission meeting in December of this year.
During the discussion, the two parties talked about bolstering financial channels and creating a comprehensive plan to advance trade, investment, and economic relations between Russia and Pakistan.
The participation in the Pakistan-Russia Trade and Investment Forum and the recent visit of a 70-member Pakistani business delegation to Russia, headed by the Communications Minister, were hailed by Prime Minister Shehbaz as positive steps towards advancing bilateral trade and investment.
