On Tuesday, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Planning and Development, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to an inclusive development framework that empowers and integrates all citizens, irrespective of their mental or physical disabilities.
“Equitable progress must be at the core of the country’s development strategy,” the minister stated in a news release while addressing the National Consultation on the United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy and highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing disability inclusion activities.
A wide range of government officials, UN representatives, and social sector partners attended the event.
Ahsan Iqbal underlined how important human-centric policies are to Pakistan’s long-term development strategies. “True development is focused on people’s empowerment, not just building infrastructure,” he stated.
